What is Jitsi & how to use it?

Jitsi is an open-source web conferencing platform – a simple, high-quality communication tool that requires no installation and is available free of charge.

How to use Jitsi (on the day of the lesson)

Q & A

Q. Do I need to register an account?

A. No, Jitsi does not require you to register an account. Simply click on the "Join Chat" button on each request to join the call.

Q. Are there any recommended browsers or devices?

A. We recommend using the following:
PC: Google Chrome, Safari, etc.
Smartphones / tablets: iOS / Android compatible

Q. Can I use it with my smartphone?

A. You can also use the website from your smartphone. However, some functions (such as background blurring) may not be available depending on the model and browser, so we recommend using a computer to take the lesson.

Q. Can I blur the background?

A. On PCs (Chrome recommended), background blur and virtual background can be set during the call.
※Background cannot be set on smartphones.

Q. What should I do if I cannot enter a call, the camera is frozen or cannot hear sound?

A. Please check the following:
-Is the microphone and camera access permission on the device turned on
-Try turning the camera on and off
-Is the camera or microphone being used by another application
-Is the internet connection stable
-Try again with a different browser.
If the problem persists, please contact Wasabi Support over the Chat box.

Q. The microphone does not connect to the earphone microphone.

A. Click on the "up arrow" symbol in the top right-hand corner of the microphone symbol to select the microphone you wish to use.

Q. Will the content of the chat be available again next time or saved somewhere?

A. Unfortunately, the content of the chat will not be saved, so please make your own copy and save it in a note or separate file before leaving the video chat.

Q. I accidentally closed my browser tab (the screen on which the video chat is open) during the lesson. What should I do?

A. If you accidentally close the video chat room, you can re-enter. Please follow the same procedure as when you first joined the lesson to re-enter the room. If you have pressed the end-of-call button, you will see a “reconnect” button, please click on it to re-enter the room.

Q. Can I record the call?

A. There is no recording function. Please refrain from recording with your own voice recorder or other equipment without the permission of both parties.
